Born in 1965 in Windhoek, Namibia, Hein moved to Durban with his parents in the late 70s. His two great passions in life, career wise, were interior design and hair styling.
Africa, its people and its wildlife is an endless source of inspiration for an artist like Rolene.
She has been painting for 25years and has always been intrigued by the process of creating and capturing the essence of a subject with colour and soul.
Rolene has exhibited at numerous exhibitions in Gauteng and Kwa-Zulu Natal. As an approved member of the ‘Artists Under The Sun’ at Zoo Lake in Johannesburg, she has become known to art buyers and gallery owners, and has been invited to many group exhibitions, namely Yapanis Gallery and the I.D.C. in Johannesburg, with tremendous success. Rolene’s paintings grace walls locally as well as in Europe, Canada, Australia and Japan. She has been commissioned to do paintings for horse lovers and wildlife enthusiasts who share her passion for her artwork. Rolene taught at a private studio in Johannesburg as well as at a private school teaching grade 8 to matric. She has since relocated to KZN and continues teaching children as well as adults in the Upper Highway area. Through her love of art, Rolene has taken time out to “give back” and has given workshops at the Ann Cheshire home for the disabled in Gauteng.
Rolene uses many mediums in her artwork namely, oils, pastel, gouache, acrylic, ink and graphite.
